I decided to use the concept of Week 5 assignment and use some features of previous works + classes + arrays.

(This is what inspired Week 5 assignment)
Till monday, my idea for this assignment was to create a subway wagon doors from a point of view of a person standing next to the door. Every function will add new layers of shapes, that you can see through the subway windows, like graffitis, lights moving fast and some illusions. On tuesday everything changed.
I was in PComp class when I read one NYU’s alert. I rouhgly read the Shots Fired text, but “Run, Hide or FIGHT” got all my attention. What does it mean to be in a situation where you receive the indication of fight for your own life? It’s valid, but I wasn’t expecting that from a developed country.

I just needed to express my feelings in some way. I have been obsessed with this alert all the week. I’m little worried about my safety but I know that NYU and NYPD are working on that, also NYU is giving mental health support. I’m more worried about the neighborhood. The guys that hit the NYU student in the floor (next to Chipotle) were (according to the report) teenagers (16 years old), what future will they have if they are so agressive at the beginning of they adult life? I wanted to know if it was a random serie of events (3 in 2 days) but I found the crime statistics from NYPD site, also I landed on a Sept 2021’s new that covers how a NYU student was shot in his arm in MetroTech park. These events wasn’t random.
The institutes, universities and enterprises around the neighborhood are part of the community, how can we help to bring a new future for people? Police control is only a response but doesn’t fix the origin of the problem. These are deeper problems that need also deeper solutions. That’s why I bring this question to class: As artists and engenieers, with a lot of backgrounds, How can we do something for our new neighborhood?. I don’t have an answer now, but I think I need to work on that.
P.S: Classes and arrays doesn’t fit well with my Week 5 code (it is only text) so I decided to use an array of eyes instead.
